When I was younger I used to get annoyed when people forgot to turn off their indicator after they had finished making the turn. Casually cruising along a straight road with their left indicator flashing. I used to think how easy it is to just remember to switch it off.

Now at 51, I am sometimes THAT person.

There's absent-mindedness in action. I'm really not sure you can actually 'make' eggs. That's the hen's job!
If anyone were to start a thread about US English terms of phrase that shouldn't annoy you but do, this would be top of my list.

No, my friend, you are not going to make some eggs, you're going to boil, poach, fry, scramble etc. some eggs.

I like this thread. I’m relieved and get much comfort from seeing that there are so many of us with the same or similar issues - which means we’re all completely normal for our age(s). Though I suppose it could also mean we’re all on the verge of going bonkers.
I think the long term damage of some of the performances under Hypia could be a factor

I recently had a small denture fitted as I couldn't afford an implant. For the second time in 2 weeks I've forgotten the blasted thing. Really annoying and I look like a pirate. 🤦🏻

Saturday got off to a great start. I got up at half 6, enjoyed my cuppa and breakfast, and then an hour later Mrs GCCM got up. Being a kind soul, I asked her what she wanted for breakfast. Her reply 'I don't want any anything now, did you forget we are going out for breakfast?'

Doh! 🤦🏻

Went on holiday to Devon just before Christmas last year, settled down to bed at around midnight and my phone went off. It was a police officer who was walking around my house as not only had I forgotten to lock my doors, I'd left both my front doors wide open.

Luckily nothing was taken.
