Is there anyway that I can 'turn off' the bit of Microsoft Word which persists in trying to predict what I want to do with it, tabbing numbered points for example. It is really annoying me today and would save time if I could turn it off and it would just do, explicitly, what I tell it to instead of trying to second guess me all the time.

cheers.

There are many annoying things in Word. Perhaps the worst is that f***ing paper clip thing. Makes me want to put my foot through the screen!

This can also be turned off in options.

thanks for your help.

unfortunately, none of the tick boxes in options relate to my particular problem so I will just have to put up with it. :(

cheers anway.

What's open office???
An office suite that contains all the elements that Microsoft Office has... Word Processor, Spreadsheet, Presentation software etc.

Big difference is that it's Open Source (and free) but has similar (if not better) functionality to Microsoft Office. In fact I think it's better... more reliable, things work as you'd expect, and it's not as bloated.
