Micky Backs Bob

According to News of the World today, Micky Adams is backing Bob to get the job.

He's quoted as saying 'Bob has all the credentials and the ability to do the job. He was a loyal No 2 to me, Peter Taylor and Steve Coppell so he knows the game'.

I would hate for Bob to leave the club and I fear that, if he doesn't get the job, he will move on fairly quickly. He was quoted as saying how much he enjoyed working with Coppell and that, may be one day, he would link up with him again. I read this as 'if I don't get the job, I'll jump ship to Reading....'

BUT I don't think he is the man for the manager's job. Leon Knight's quote of 'give it to him, he's one of us' sums it up. He is too much one of the lads and I don't think he would get their respect in the long-run when he had to give them a bollocking etc.

Really hope he stays coz he has been one of the few loyal senior staff members over recent years but I think it will turn very sour if he did land the role.

As a fan of "give Booker the job" until yesterday, let's see how he does on Tuesday.

Nothing about the Albion impressed me yesterday, would it be fair to blame Booker?

From the reports I've read about the game BB's been in charge of I don't think he's the man:

Grimsby - 1st half Grimsby were the better team. Good second half

FGR - an even game, that was decided by better finishing & good keeping from Kuipers

Bmuff - shite

It seems to me that we've had one good half in 3 matches. That isn't enough to convince me that BB's the man for the job. Great number 2, but DK has showed BB plenty of loyalty & he shouldn't be blackmailed into giving him the job

What really got me yesterday was the fact that McPhee was treading water after an hour yet we had to wait another 20 minutes for a sub, personally i think McPhee didn't look fit and should have come off long before he did and i wasn't the only one to notice that... Booker didn't though.

Also as i said in another thread i dont think Booker studied any videos of Bournemouth as we looked totally unprepared for their style of play, shambolic!

I missed the phone in yesterday. Was anyone else mentioned (ie Tigana) other than Cotterill whom Harty said DK had met with 3 times last week??

Did it take you about 2 hours to get out of the sodding car park at the ground?

We parked on a side street about 10 minutes away from the ground, got stuck in a bit of traffic coming out of Bournemouth but other than that generally ok, had more problems getting to Bournemouth!

Potless has already shown Booker plenty of loyalty by insisting any new manager(s) take on the backroom staff.
A perceptive caller said on the phone in yesterday that if Booker wants to become a manager he should go to another team in the lower leagues where he would have the authority, Brisbane Rd perhaps :D

Harty mentioned that Kinnear had priced himself out but that was about it apart from what has been mentioned above

Micky is now rooted to the bottom of the Premier now they lost to Spurs.

Micky wants Bob to stay because he's going to get the sack at the Crisp Bowl and return here to work with Bob

(well, everyone else is starting rumours;) )

That bloody Bournemouth car park. Dad got a £30 fine for not paying and displaying. We didn't notice any of the signs till after the game.
