The following things were Micky Adams' fault:

1. Playing Adam Virgo right wing ahead of Joe Anyinsah.

2. Not bringing Joe Anyinsah on for Adam Virgo.

3. Defensive substitutions at 3-2 up. Why did El-Abd come on for Thornton when Cox and Anyinsah were on the bench?

So, I think he is in a big way to blame for today's dire result.

We saw yesterday that, when provided with decent crosses, Murray will score. Three quality crosses, three goals. So why was the right wing wasted on Virgo? We couldn't seem to decide what game we were playing; we had Thornton tearing them up on one side, getting the ball to feet and producing things, then we had the ball to Virgo's head getting us nowhere on the other. Alan Wright figured out our gameplan against him after FIVE minutes, and we persisted with it for the full ninety. I can't see how we would have drawn had Virgo been in his actual position and a winger been in his place on the right.

The tactics were far from sensible and I think Adams on reflection would do things differently yesterday if he had a chance however where I think we went wrong yesterday was after we scored our first goal.

Had we dug in and defended well we would have built on that lead and I believe gone on and comfortably won. But when we leaked that goal and the wonder goal before half time we have them a belief they could snatch a goal and you felt anything other than a 2 goal cushion was going to leave us exposed to not getting the result.

It's a shame that Micky chose not to be interviewed on Harty's phone in. Hawesy could then have asked him what the thinking was behind Virgo's deployment on the right wing. Any thoughts as to what Micky's answer might have been? I'll start -

i like Virgo but it seems theres a mentallity that we can play him anywhere, as long as he's on the pitch it will be fine. Does he have some special contract? i think he could make it as a central midfielder if left there consistantly, and we know he makes a good striker, but no never a winger. so he's pushed out to wing basically to accomodate Hawkins who has spent a career as cover yet is now apparently no1 choice CB, which has also lead to Lynch not having any chance of a game.

Dorchester, is where Wes Fogden went.

Wes Fogden did actually feature as a player twice for us - once in the league and once in the Paint Trophy.

When asked "are you 'brightonbear'", the answer was "yes".
Sounds simple enough to me, and anyone else could have asked, I imagine.

For yesterdays game? Not at all at fault.
The board have allowed Adams to develop a squad that was more than capable of walking the game yesterday.
It was the bizarre team selection (ie Virgo right wing) and negative subs that led to us throwing away a game we should have romped.
