I think the anti Adams brigade should give him a break. The players have to start taking some of the flack for these late goals and general poor performances. The team as a whole need to pull their socks up this season.
The division is much more competetive than last season if we expect to match last year or push for the play offs then we going to need to start improving and fast.

I can see where you're coming from, as the defence were poor today and they should take responsibity for that, Adams signalled for them to push out but they didnt. Hawkins should have patrolled the defence and dragged them out, every attack they sunk deeper and deeper.

The following things were Micky Adams' fault:

1. Playing Adam Virgo right wing ahead of Joe Anyinsah.

2. Not bringing Joe Anyinsah on for Adam Virgo.

3. Defensive substitutions at 3-2 up. Why did El-Abd come on for Thornton when Cox and Anyinsah were on the bench?

So, I think he is in a big way to blame for today's dire result.

We do not have a Guy Butters, Simon Morgan or Danny Cullip ignoring any of their faults at least they told the back four how and where to play but we now have a back four of hoofers with no brain. All the more reason to put Virgo into it.

Just think of the stick Mark McGhee would have been getting now had he played Virgo in midfield.

The good thing is that DK listens to the fans so perhaps he will tell Micky where to play Virgo:laugh:

I'd add Hawkins to those points

Got to agree with that, the buck stops there.

Fully agree. I though it was entirely down to Adams today.
Again as TCB says I am not calling for his head or anything but today I though he f***ed up big time.

brightonbear, who we assume is a player, posts on here but I wonder if any of the management team or their family ever read this board and see what people are saying.

But what you kids must realise is that hindsight is a wonderful thing...

Had we won the match, then these would not be faults but strokes of mastery.

No, if we'd have won, that would have papered over the cracks. Cheltenham were gash, and we should have comprehensively put them away. The tactical / selection flaws listed would still have been flaws in todays gameplan.

Yesterday was the first time that I felt I could blame Micky Adams for not getting a result.

Unbelieveble negative, a bit niave and at fault for not doing the f***ing obvious.

It was CLEAR we were all over them, yet we scored our 3rd, then from there on in, just sat back about 5 yards outside our box. Despite Savage telling everyone to push up, we just sat back and let them attack us again and again. They could have easliy had 2 or 3 penalties, and Elphick and Thornton were both lucky to be on the pitch.

It was obvious Thornton and MUrray were playing well and creating chances, yet our tactic was to kick it high to the right wing, because Virgo was 2ft taller than Alan Wright. :thud:

If that was our main attack threat then god help us, all we needed was a PROPER winger who was able to dribble past some who was as good as a traffic cone, but yet we put a central defender right wing with no pace, and kick the ball in the air to him

It was only a matter of time before they would score, and yet all we did was take off our attacking players and let them attack us more

ADAMS, you DO NOT HAVE to play Hawkins and Virgo. Hawkins is still clearly unfit and at fault for some goals yesterday AGAIN. As for Virgo, STOP shoehorning him in to the team? Do Virgo have something on you, a dodgy picture/mobile phone video? Or is it in his contract to actually play?

As I have said all along, Murray is CLASS act, now will you lot stop f***ing slagging him off and let him score the goals to keep us in the running.

The team has gone backwards under Adams- fact

He has had a wider choice of players than Wilkins and they are not delivering. Apart from the marvellous match v Man City the home form is that of a relegation team.

Under DK we have had more Managers than hot dinners yet all good clubs have stability. I just hope that MA shows that he has not lost the plot and that the season can turn around.

Late goals are going in because of TACTICS. We sit too deep, we try and hold the ball in the corner instead of passing it about, and we invite pressure. That's why we concede late goals, not because of the players.

I'm not going to demand Adams is sacked for a very long time. Anyone doing so now, on October 4, is a mentalist. He just needs to stop picking his favourites regardless of form, and realise our first eleven is so good that we can afford to really go at teams in this league and not worry about them so much.

Sitting deep seems to be a Brighton thing, they always seem to do it no matter who the manager is.
