The Grockle
Formally Croydon Seagull
Just read this article on the two bob website, Sportbox tv. The first paragraph reads ‘Micky Adams has promised that he will not walk away from Brighton even though the club's fans want him to quit.’ The rest of the article I have read elsewhere but where has this sentiment come from As far as I’m concerned Mickey has the backing of most fans?
As much as I hate Adams out polls, I feel the need to add one. For me it’s very much in, no question.
Micky Adams has promised that he will not walk away from Brighton even though the club's fans want him to quit.
The 4-2 home defeat to Peterborough United, their seventh loss at the Withdean Stadium this term, left the Seagulls just one point above the relegation zone.
Adams has vowed to turn the club's fortunes around though, saying: "I walked away from one job at Leicester, but that wasn't because I was receiving abuse.
"I've got a family to look after and protect and I'll continue to do that, but I'm not going to walk away.
"I think the energy the fans are using to abuse me should be transmitted into support for the players. I'm concerning myself with my players, because the criticism that's coming my way is now starting to seep through to the players and that can't happen.
"We all want the same thing. We want the Albion to do well. I want to win games. I'm sick of losing games. It spoils my Saturdays and my weeks.
"If I felt the players were cheating and not giving their all then I'd come down on them like a ton of bricks. But that isn't the case. They're giving their absolute maximum at the moment and some of them need a cuddle."
