Just read this article on the two bob website, Sportbox tv. The first paragraph reads ‘Micky Adams has promised that he will not walk away from Brighton even though the club's fans want him to quit.’ The rest of the article I have read elsewhere but where has this sentiment come from??? As far as I’m concerned Mickey has the backing of most fans?

As much as I hate Adams out polls, I feel the need to add one. For me it’s very much in, no question.

Micky Adams has promised that he will not walk away from Brighton even though the club's fans want him to quit.

The 4-2 home defeat to Peterborough United, their seventh loss at the Withdean Stadium this term, left the Seagulls just one point above the relegation zone.

Adams has vowed to turn the club's fortunes around though, saying: "I walked away from one job at Leicester, but that wasn't because I was receiving abuse.

"I've got a family to look after and protect and I'll continue to do that, but I'm not going to walk away.

"I think the energy the fans are using to abuse me should be transmitted into support for the players. I'm concerning myself with my players, because the criticism that's coming my way is now starting to seep through to the players and that can't happen.

"We all want the same thing. We want the Albion to do well. I want to win games. I'm sick of losing games. It spoils my Saturdays and my weeks.

"If I felt the players were cheating and not giving their all then I'd come down on them like a ton of bricks. But that isn't the case. They're giving their absolute maximum at the moment and some of them need a cuddle."

The idea that most fans want micky out come from the fact that when we lose the moaners are more vocal than the optimists, and when we win the optomists are more vocal than the moaners. Unfortunately, we've lost more than we've won this season so the moaners have had more opportunity to be more vocal.

Incuding after a 10(?) match winless run a poll on here came back as over 80% adams out.

I also think there is a tendency of optimist fans to congregate together so only see each other, and moaners to congregate together, so the moaners only hear the views of fans that agree with them, etc..

No point in turfing him out really. The damage was done by bringing him in, in the first place.

We'll end up about 5 points clear of relegation and despite a paint pot final appearance, it will have been a totally shit season. Personally I can't wait for the season to end and I think the board will expect significant improvement next term.

I think most fans are sensible enough to realise that it's too late to do much about it now and provided we can at least avoid the ugliness of a proper relegation scrap then Micky will know next season things have to improve A LOT to avoid a serious backlash and the very real possibility of the axe falling before Christmas.

I will give him time, and I do NOT expect us to go down but serious questions have to be asked and I don't think it's as simple as all those people who seem to think he was a one trick pony who's success last time was down to getting lucky with Bobby.

I remember a lot more form that era. For one thing there were comments from players at the time about his motivational techniques, how he had instilled a no fear, must win attitude in them all and how even silly things like "positive mental attitude" posters up in the dressing room were actually helping to focus the players and boost morale.

I don't see or hear any of that now and maybe Micky's given it up and thinks it's stupid now and maybe it IS stupid but you can't argue with results.

Or maybe he is still trying but doesn't seem as convincing now he's back with less to show for himself in recent history.

I hope he turns it round but I think he really needs to look at why he's failing right now (clue the defence is shit) and make the little changes rather than just rushing out for more players.

I hope you're right. Relegation would be a complete disaster.

If however we are not in the top 6-8 around Christmas time next season I would be disappointed. By then Adams would have had time to build 'his' team and there could be no reason for excuses.

Regarding ST sales (US's post) this will come down simply to the price. They must be some decent price reductions (not just for the Under 16s/u21s) and the ability to pay over 9 or 10 months. The additional cost forthe travel voucher MUST be looked at again as well IMO - £24.00 or whatever it costs (plus booking fee if done online) for a single match ticket is frankly crazy.

I know this wll upset the 2 year STH but they should be given a discount for the first year at Falmer.
