Indeed, whilst we are speculating let’s chuck a he could have been using his phone into the mix

Or looking backwards regaling a customer with "you'll never guess who I had in the back of here last week" while driving forwards

Now I know you’re a boomer but surely you’ve upgraded your car to have one of these which negates the need to look backwards?

I bet when you reverse into a side road to execute a change of direction on a main road you put your arm firmly round the front passenger seat 😉

The writing off part not so much. Cars like his Ferrari are designed to crumple, to disperse the energy from impact and the engines are designed to drop. Any semi-serious crash is likely to cause serious damage and write a car off.

While that's true, they are designed to protect the occupants, and the photo of the Ferrari we've seen doesn't look like it's done that.

That plus it’s likely the pictures doing the rounds are after he’s been cut out mean that the state of the car is not a reliable indicator as to how bad the accident actually is.

That's true, although even taking that into account it looks horrendous.

I’m not saying in this instance he was/wasn’t driving well or badly, only that we simply can’t tell anything by the state of the car now.

IMO the car we've seen photos of clearly had a big impact, not the sort of thing you'd see at 30/40 mph.

I don't know what you're insinuating at but until you know absolutely everything about the accident, I suggest you wind your neck in, pal.
Hmmmm.....I think its fair comment. If someone I know writes of a second car in the space of a couple of years, there would be serious questions to be asked.

Completely separate issue from wishing he makes a full and swift recover, which everyone surely does.

Don't know about that - surely it would take exceptional skill to roll a car at 10m.p.h. going round a normal roundabout?
An old man leaving his drive in Norfolk managed to roll his Range Rover. According to police he was actually stationary when the drive flipped him over.

It was Christmas 2019 - a time before Covid and two wars in Europe started. Hardly "a couple of years" is it? An ignorant and extremely crass post from Sea Cider.

Chill out.

OBVIOUSLY everyone wishes him a full and speedy recovery.

We are allowed to both do that and comment that he's either been extremely unlucky or needs to drive with more care before something awful happens (either to him or some bystander).

How would the car flip when nothing is moving. The pivot would be the tyres on the opposite side to the side moving most and consequently you are saying the side that lifted, did so without any force applied?

Unless, as it's the Internet I am missing the possibility that you are not serious.

No hard feelings, Sea Cider.

It's brought back some terrible memories personally. I know we're both united in wishing Michail a speedy (no pun intended) recovery and maybe a Volkswagen Polo as his next car for safety.

Surgery for a lower leg fracture. Sounds like an internal fixator to the tibia to me.
