"I know I can still bang them in at the top level. I proved that nearly every time I played for Manchester United."

The worst strike rate at Man U out of any club in his career, didn't even score in every 3 games for a top club. Hardly 'nearly' every time he played :lolol:

17 goals in 52 appearances, less than 1 in 3 over 3 seasons. However, not all of those appearances would have been full, quite a few as sub.
the issue for me is injuries, imo though, if he was fit he would be very good in the championship.

Right here, right now
Really? Can I just offer up a few players who you hate less?

Ashley Cole, John Terry, Rio Ferdinand, Joey Barton, Roy Keane, Henry Hughton, Carl Griffiths, Scott McGleish, Luis Suarez, Wayne "cant be arsed for England" Rooney, and CRISTIANO RONALDO!

Dan Harding, Dean Hammond

The bloke was class in his day and deserves more respect than he's getting here on this thread. It's not his fault he's been injury-plagued because he was playing non-stop from 17 when his body was still growing.

exactly, he was a quality player in his day, pushed to young and prone to injury, don't know if hes still got it in him now though, definitely don't think premier league.

Only Charlton, Lineker and Greaves have scored more goals for England. Anyone scoring 40 goals for his country deserves a modicum of respect.
Fergie is no fool. He knew the man could come off the bench and nick a vital goal here and there.
Outside of injuries, wage demands and location, he would be perfect for us.

On the ocean wave
At least he did ok for England in his prime. Wayne Rooney on the other hand; the useless, scowling, shitty barnet transplanting, milf brass shagging, mickey mouse, TWAT.
I'm not too keen.
Wish one England manager had the balls to drop the waste of space.

Don't get his personality at all, he could do a very decent job for a decent PL team given reasonable service and I think resigning himself to not playing regularly shows a huge lack of ambition. He's got maybe 2 years as a decent pro left if he wants it, then he can do what the f*** he wants for the rest of his life, why not go somewhere like here, play every week on a smaller contract (performance related), prove that he can still knock goals in and then get a move on merit back to a PL club for a swansong at a good level? Of course he'd get injured in his first training session but...
