Think several of our centre backs have been shocking in recent weeks.

El-Abd, Santos, Butters and also Lynch

If he will come get him in i say

El-Abd; has been poor. RB if required. Definitely NOT a CB
Santos; was great against O's, poor since, now suspended for 3 games anyway.
Lynch; Out of sorts recently, but will be fine.
Butters; Played well Sunday, in his first proper appearance of the season.
Hinsh; now available too.

I think Hinsh / Butters is okay for now with Lynch LB, for the time being.

If the Chelsea lad does come in then Hinsh may go in midfield which is no bad thing.

From thefa.com - 'Michael Mancienne - Chelsea - Defender
8/1/88
A composed and confident central defender, Michael has captained England at U18 level and will look to stamp his authority as he makes the step up. Michael will also bring experience from Chelsea including appearing on the bench for this season's Community Shield against Liverpool.'

He's currently with the England U19's in a tournament in Austria.

Way out West
We may have loads of theoretical centre backs, but (a) El Abd shouldn't be allowed to play there again - go back to RB, where he seems much more at home; (b) Butters cannot be relied upon at his age - although good to see him back on Sat; (c) Lynch has had some didgy moments this season, and to be honest from what I've seen I'd prefer to see him play at LB; (d) Hinsh looks set to play in central midfield.

And, this is not likely to happen, I would love to see Lynch tried on the left of midfield - he is classy on the ball and can obviously tackle. Two qualities we do NOT get from Frutos or Mayo.

glad to hear your mate is pretty quick, but I think the more important news is that we are signing a referee....very good move in my book.

Wilkins IN

Correction!

Spoke to a Chelsea fan who is also a referee at work about him today, he reffed in a match that Michael Mancienne played in for Dulwich Hamlet last season. My mate the referee said that Micheal Mancienne is very quick for a defender.
