first off the bat is that virgo is a self confessed central defender, so why are we playing him in centre of midfield at home games?

adams post match has now put fear in players - how do they feel- many just moved to brighton too- hardly motivational.

lynch is rightly pissed off - our next possible ferdinand to be nurtured? no, we want an old steady head hoofing clear.

is adams management style of the old div2 div3 school? yes. will he bring success? maybe...but this is not the point here.

he IS a no nonsense brash northerner; 110%, tackles, wins ground out, backs to the wall stuff type person.

Even gary hart gets a new contract and has even PLAYED!!!! you dont send an ex a birthday card because she was a good shag a few years ago.

what flair has adams ever brought bha? brooker? zammo? well, the former was a rare nugget and carried us b4 he went to london to be a spice boy.

is adams boring? why is he now wearing suits? is he another 'go anywhere money manager making money?

prove me different mr adams and show me some flair, class or even a hero....because without these commodities you will have problems, it is fixable - but fix it please, and quickly or the "should you of come back" brigade will loom.

warning over, and excuses of withdean experience fell flat on my ears many years ago mr adams, it is a little insulting to use these again.

I suspect Virgo is playing central midfield thanks to a great display at Crewe. He is also a real threat at set pieces which would explain why he is in the team. Don't think he will stay there long though on yesterday's showing.

With regard to Adams style of play again look at the Crewe game. I'm sure he didn't tell his players to play shit aimless balls.

With regard to Lynch why should he be in the team? He was njured for the first game. Hawkins played well and has kept his place. Only 2 goals conceded in 5 games does not say to me hat the defence needs changing.

Two words:

Still unbeaten.

It won't last on the strength of yesterday's display and the pitiful showing against Rovers. Unless there is a major improvement in our performance, I suspect Scunny to beat us easily next weekend.

"lynch is rightly pissed off"? Why?? What has he got to offer, that would make anyone say he should have been on the field yesterday??
Answer - nothing. Sell, and asap. Over 20 and you are thinking of his possibilities as the next Ferdinand? Pull the other leg, as it still has potential.

Your post contains several odd references mate - to the manager being a brash northerner, wearing suits. I'm not sure where you were going with that - but evidence on the Withdean pitch doesn't fill me with confidence either. And you're right about Zamora meaning a lot to previous success - we just don't have a Premiership quality striker on our books - and those are getting fewer and farther between, outside of the Prem of course.

I think Lynch coming in would begin the process of the team playing with more flair. How can you expect the team to play a slick passing game when they have players in the team that immediately hoof it up the pitch at the first opportunity.

It starts from the back and Hawkins and Elphick refuse to keep the ball on the ground so I hope Lynch gets his chance soon.

Yup good idea. Two goals conceded in 5 games, so definitely time to change the back 4!:thud:

I thought people were claiming about the way we were playing not the results:thud:

To be honest mate, I think people will complain a lot more if we start playing flowing football from the back and begin leaking goals. I wouldn't touch the defence at the moment. Need to sort the midfield though, and ASAP.

.

im sure you wouldnt have been saying this about virgo in the first two games??

and lynch lets sell him quickly. our defence is strong and i dont feel he deserves a game. happily let him go elphick and hawkins are strong and we have enough back up (virgo el abd) to get rid.

Agree, but then away from home 2 quality performances and results - wasn't at Crewe but been told we were good, and then top away job at Southend, if not always pretty. I am aware a lot of fans don't travel away, and so the team has got to perform at home, but I really think a lot of that is down to the lack of atmosphere, crap stadium, usual stuff etc etc. Hopefully some good results can change the atmosphere at home a little bit!

2 wins 2 draws - ok so the 'wrong' way round in terms of games, but still a start we'd all have taken.

You are definitely right as far as yesterday went as a lot of balls out of the centre of defence seemed to go to them and for me it was Michel and some degree of luck that kept the clean sheet. Lynch on his day is a class act. Saying that, that was only the first time I have seen Hawkins and unbeaten with only two goals conceded must say something.

Doesn't wash after only 4 games. We have been lucky to anything out of both home games. I take your point if we'd shown something but surely form what we've seen crewe aside has been football lacking any imagination and a team getting purely lucky. How long can you depend on that ?

While I personally wouldn't play Lynch if everyone is fit, he is unlucky as he hasn't done a lot wrong.
