[Help] Mice

How does poison work with cats around? We don’t have one but a lot in the area and we already nearly killed one (a long story to do with a roof covering and a trespassing moggy). Ok inside but would probably preclude using any outside? If we poisoned it again we might have a major neighbour issue!

There are special boxes that cats should not be able to get into. B and Q sell them.

Just get a bowl of peanut butter oil

Though from personal experience I’d just call the council.

This is what I did and got about seven of them in the end.
A nice bit of cheddar with a bit of peanut butter on in the trap works very well.

Peanut butter and a bit of a Jacobs Cracker is a winner too.

The peanut butter works well, as does chocolate. Mice prefer other things than cheese !

Get some Neosorexa gold.
We use this at work. Works really well.

As others have said, and has been discussed on a few rat threads over the years, the main priority is to work out where they could be getting in and seal those holes off. Scrunched up narrow mesh chicken wire does the job for us. Unfortunately mice can get through really tiny holes and it can be very hard to identify access points.

They are actually more destructive than rats and can be an electrical hazard – we had some that ate through the plastic insulation of cables in our eaves.

Once inside your home they will generally work out the most efficient route to your kitchen so seal off any access to cupboards and larders.
