Have I been driving around with my eyes shut? Have yet to see an MG6 on the road.

They've been advertised a bit and Rivervale are the dealership.

Or is it that people just won't associate MG's with China and not buying them?

I saw one in a car park at Exeter University last week, looked OK, for a bog standard mid size saloon type car.

I do a fair amount of driving (approx 20,000 a year) and can confirm that I have seen just 1 of the new MGs.
The MG owners club are apparently quite supportive of the new MG just because it keeps the name of the brand going even if it is now some Chinese firm.

It is just some chinese made car, imported and re-badged as an MG.

I followed one yesterday and was quite impressed with it's aesthetics from the rear end.

The brand MG will always get a thumbs up from me, although there has been some duffers, but what low to midrange manufacturers hasn't produced some shite.

I had one as a hire car from Heathrow airport. Not that impressed even if cheap(ish), but you could see that with a bit more investment and design these imports from China could find a place in the European market.

Look Out BMW, Honda etc.

MG are already breathing down yer neck, Plato just pissed all over them at Thruxton in the MG6 in the British touring car championship, can't be bad in the first season.

Next step f1?

The iconic brand is back.

Plato would piss all over most of them driving an Austin!

I've just watched the promo video and these are few conclusions that I've come to.

1. It looks like an up dated Austin princess.
2. MG cars are associated with sports cars and not boring family saloons.
3. If Rover had the image of appealing to the mid 40s upwards this will have the image of appealing to the nearly dead.
4. Sounds expensive for what it is.
MG should stick to what they used to know best, building exciting sports cars.

Think they should have made the MGF larger, the same way Mazda increased the size of the MX5. Used to have an F and loved it. British Racing Green and used to stick to corners like shit to a blanket. Bit of a hairdressers car, but great fun.

I've seen 2 so far in the last few weeks. One was on the back of a Westbourne Motors Recovery rig. Omens look less than good.
