As a keen road cyclist, the sight of a helmet flying through the air, is somewhat worrying. I can only assume it wasn't on properly.
Although I doubt a full suit of armour would protect you in that crash.

I nearly ended up with a cyclist shaped dent in my car on Sunday. Round my way the various cycle clubs use the back roads for their sport. Wouyld be a good idea if they stopped riding three abreast (or more) and also looked forward rather than have a long conversation with the cyclists follwing. I nearly creamed one who did just that, he seemed a bit surprised to see me on the road, even if it was on my side. I swear that had I not hooted he would have ridden straight into me.

We don't help ourselves sometimes.
Although the abuse that's doled out our way, as written on my 2nd home, Bikes, Bike Reviews, Cycling Routes, Race News | BikeRadar.com, is frightening.
I'm a firm believer in 'you get out what you put in', so for that fact you won't a more polite cyclist on the road, than me.

Don't get me wrong, I ride a bicycle too on occasion but round my way we have cars, a few vans, the odd lorry not to mention walkers and horse riders. They all respect each other and in the main realise it's a good idea to slow down for the many blind bends. Even individual cyclists moan about the cycle clubs.

A few years back, some old guffer (not Dave) got pissed off that the street market was on and he had to make a detour. So he put his foot down and wiped out the market, killing 9.

He made up an excuse about accidentally stepping on the accelerator, but people mentioned that he had already been acting and gesticulating in anger before he did it.
