It’s been pretty big on the news here but it may not have had much coverage in the UK even though a British woman has died. So sad

The kids just need to apply one of life's basic rules. If something seems too good to be true, it probably is!

When I was in Thailand most places at the beach parties were selling a bottle of vodka, gin, whisky and mixer to drink out of a sandcastle bucket. It wasn't very clear what the spirits were but they certainly weren't branded bottles. Didn't think much of it at the time. I was obviously fine but this is very sad news and hopefully will raise awareness for others

They won't be cutting it with methanol but rather not getting rid of it in the distillation process. When making moonshine, you should chuck out the first bit of the distillation as it has high levels of methanol but it seems in this case they messed up though ignorance or greed.
