Seen them many times over the years, had a flakey bit with St Anger, last saw them on Death Magnetic, but not since then. This performance on BBC4 right now seems to have reset the balance, what a cracking racket.

" flake bit might be a tad understated! Utter garbage with no solos and Lars snare sounding like a biscuit tin. And let's not forget the self indulgent navel gazing documentary ' Some Kind of Monster' of which the only highlight was the bass auditions when they ultimately offered Rob the job with a million dollars advance.

Saw Death Magnetic tour at The O2 and wish more bands would play in the round.

Agree with the round, any band I've seen do it I have enjoyed. O2 was good, Olympia a few years back with the falling pylons was better, IMO.

Oh, and St Anger as a stand alone song was fine, the rest of the album wasn't.

St Anger is a total honker but Death Magnetic certainly has it's moments.

Thought their Glasto set last year was ruined by Lars Ulrich's woeful drumming. Was like watching a sixth form covers band at times. Plus he is clearly a prized bellend.

Was there last night. First time seeing them. Epic is the only word to describe it first hand.

Royal Blood were also awesome earlier in the day. Great touch from Ben wearing an Albion flag for the last song!

Whilst i love a lot of their stuff neither Lars or James come across as particularly nice people. St Anger was supreme arrogance and their treatment of Jason Newsted was brutal. They did actually have a point about Napster but went about it an overly aggressive way not helped by at that stage bring rich beyond belief.

The Napster thing was clumsy and ham fisted beyond belief. They certainly had a point though. By contrast look at the way Taylor Swift has gone about a very similar issue.
