Held on somewhat of a technicality due to COVID. I am guessing that this will see clauses in contracts written a little differently.

Surely this will sour the relationship between Barca and Messi.

Still I guess he leaves for free next year instead?

Not sure anyone really wins from this.

Sounds like he wants a free transfer or the 700M. Why can't they decide something in the middle like 75M plus bonuses for Man City or whoever winning certain trophies?

Maybe Messi would command much lower wages in that case and it's his agent/Dad/camp actually being stubbon and only wanting all or nothing as they know they'll get that in a year anyway.

Biggest affect of it all anyway might be keeping Pep at City for a lot longer than he would have otherwise.
