Jesus - when I read threads like this I wonder why I bother with Northstandchat - some of the negative comments about Roberts are ridiculous.

Aside from one stupid fumble, which he rescued, Roberts had an excellent game in awful conditions. A couple of top saves and some really good handling of a slippery ball on awkward crosses. His distribution wasn't the best - but only because he seemed to be "over" throwing the ball or "over" kicking it i.e. it was going too far... but again it wasn't exactly great weather was it?

I think there's not much between the two keepers - we're lucky to have two that are so good. Get off his back you :censored: muppets.

Roberts has got the defence outta a mess many a time we are appauling at defending at times and Roberts has to make quick decisions based on the defenders iability to clear balls they shouldve, he has to switch sides quickly and cannot be expected to always catch the ball in these instances. He reminds me a bit of Bruce grobbelard and his clowing around at times but despite this he has my continued support as the number one keeper. I wish kippers a speedy recovery and all the best from his recent incident but i hope he never plays for the Albion again as i continue to give my  for Roberts at the number one keeper.

Roberts is a good goalie, its a confidence thing with him,me thinks.

But must say after seing kuipers in the event he's got to be the nicest bloke ever+one of the best shot stoppers outside the prem.

SORT YOUR KICKING OUT MICHEL AND AWAY WE GO!

I thought Roberts had a good game and the save at the end showed real reflexes as the ball seemed to swerve at the last minute. He is also brave and is prepared to get right in at attackers feet with his hands - Kuipers gave away a couple of penalties last season by trying to win balls with his feet. In the first half he made a particularly good diving catch from a cross going through a crowd of players to take the ball near the penalty spot. A lot of keepers would have left that and tried to deal with the header instead.

Since McGhee said he is the number one Roberts has improved, probably because of confidence. Get off his back

Roberts is a decent keeper but does tend to make some very strange errors ie Boston. I won't have a go at him because he is IMHO the best keeper we have (Kuipers distribution really needs sorting) I would just like to see his communication go furthur than shouting 'AWWWAAAAAAAy' every time the ball goes near his goal.

Can I just throw in a few names to support my feeling that both Kuipers and Roberts are excellent keepers. If we had their quality throughout the team we would be out of sight in this division by now.

Walton, Rust, Ormerod, Packham

FRUIT OF THE BLOOM
I thought Roberts was our best player other than the incident he got away with.

His handling in awful wether was superb and he was organising the defence all night, all I could here was him talking to the back line.

A far superior keeper to Kuipers IMHO.
