It should be remembered that Paul Merson suffers with a gambling problem, he usually backs the wrong horse. "Crap gambler backs team to go down" That is probably the clue to lump on them staying up !

Perhaps I missed some earlier comments by him? But the nice things he said, seemed to start when we got those key results in February. Not just for Brighton, but he seems to go with the obvious flow, minimising the risk of egg on his face,

He has strange debating skills. Sky Sports 1 had its weekly debate last night with Shreeves, with his guests Bellamy and Merson. Bellamy is currently a coach at Cardiff. Every time Shreeves asked Bellamy a question, he was instantly outshouted by Merson with his ill inforned waffle. A shame.
