I went to his testimonial vs Liverpool at the Goldstone back in the day as a kid.

Remember lots of Albion fans all swamping the Liverpool spice boys (Fowler, McManaman, Redknapp) for autographs. I always thought that was embarrassing.. even then.

Seem to recall Le Tiss coming on for us and hitting the bar. Was a great night and I didn’t know much about Case, but he had an incredible response from the crowd. All the best to him and hope he gets well soon.

I went to that match too, it was a great night. I came back with autographs from Nicky Rust, John Byrne and Junior, obviously they were for a friend!

Jimmy is a really nice guy, glad to hear he's recovering.

We were still mocking the first article about a car that flipped onto its roof in a pub garden near Waterlooville.

Covered in great detail including the new mound of old turfs that will stop future crashes, apparently.

No one ever said how the car occupants were.

I seem to remember only one occupant, had to be cut free but minor injuries.

Just watched a story on the effect of Covid on staff at
Winchester Hospital.They interviewed a Covid patient who is soon
to be going home.His name appeared on the screen it was Jimmy Robert.
He was a Scouser and I thought he looked very familiar.I thought that’s Jimmy Case
So I googled him and his middle name is Robert.Humble as ever glad your through it Jim

Funny thing is, just 2 weeks ago Jimmy Case was in a new article in the Bournemouth Echo about making owl nesting boxes, of all things. Looked really well.

But the same person as on the Winchester CV19 ward.

Glad he’s recovering. Loved him as a player, a legend at every club he served.

Great spot. Sent the link to my dad as he's one of his hero's and asked him if he could guess who it was. He did get it right but we were both a bit taken aback. No real reason to be, he looks like any other man of his age who's been seriously ill but when you haven't seen someone for years who was previously an athlete and a hardman, it just came as a bit of shock to see him looking like that.

As a kid, he did seem like the oldest football player in history when he got sent off for losing his hearing aid mind you!

Anyway, legend, hope his recovery continues to go well.

I remember being behind the North stand goal watching this little white speck get very big very very quickly , Jimmy had unleashed one of his bullets and it came just over the bar and straight at us , you had to have your wits about you when he was playing to the North .

So glad the great man is on the mend , one tough cookie .

He had a reputation, commonplace in the game in his era, of being a big drinker. Looks like he tamed that demon a long time ago.

It was a masterclass, and he got away with it. I was going 'did YOU SEE THAT!!??' and the people I was with went 'what? Shut up.'

John Byrne guested for us and scored, and you’re correct in that Le Tissier came on and hit the bar from about 40 yards out. It was during the season when he was absolutely on fire for Saints.


And then there’s the Robbie Fowler story.....
