May as well abandon the leadership election and just disband the party

Putting out a manifesto was all a bit of a joke anyway - they were never going to win a general election - essentially they were a pressure group pretending to be a political party, and there is no need for them to exist once we are out of the EU.
We'll still need them, though, if the politicians at \Westminster decided to attempt to undermine democracy just because most of them were remainers.

With UKIP taking a back seat we turn to Labour to step up to the plate..... :D:lolol::lolol::jester::shit:

There's several million core-labour leavers who won't be going back to Labour until Labour turns itself around and accepts the result of the referendum. Dianne Abbott will have to be told to give up her favourite pastime of shouting 'racists' at leavers - and she ain't going to like that!

UKIP are a shambles , it really shows that it was a one man band with Farage .

This is good news for the Labour Party though. Now all we need is a 2nd Scottish referendum that the SNP will lose then everyone will return to Labour in Scotland as well and we will have Comrade Corbyn leading the country

Really? If 'Comrade Corbyn' really thinks that millions in the Labour heartlands who voted leave are going to return to voting for a party that is plotting with other parties at Westminster to try and find a way of sneakily overturning the result of the referendum, he'll have another think coming!

PS. Apologies if you were joking or being ironic or something..............

There was a bit of tongue in cheek about it , especially the reference to Scotland, but who else are they going to vote for in the labour heartlands.

All commentators were saying Labour were going to lose votes to UKIP and at this rate UKIP won't be fielding any candidates at the next general election. So they will be left with a choice of Tory, Labour and Lib Dem. The Lib Dems want a 2nd referendum once we know the terms of Brexit . Leaving Tory and Labour. I can't imagine places like Sunderland ever voting in a Tory candidate. Lesser of 2 evils springs to mind .

genuine question - accepting the posited case that UKIP are pretty much done, who do you think they will vote for?

This might be a stupid question. I don't really DO day to day politics.

But, their you're party is called the UK Independence Party.....and we've now gained "independence", what's their point?

Fair enough - but I think we're both getting ahead of ourselves. Article 50 gets invoked early next year (though why it can't be done sooner, given that apparently negotiations can't start until it's done, I don't know) so we'll be out of the EU early in 2019. Election is not until 2020 - the political landscape will be totally changed by then.
UKIP will just be a fringe right wing party, with no appeal to Labour leavers. However, if Labour is busy conspiring with the Lib Dems and the SNP to try and get us re-admitted to the EU, I can't see them winning back many votes, Corbyn or no Corbyn.

Good question! Don't know - depends on whether Labour has the sense to re-position itself regarding the EU, I guess.
