You seriously think that his speech today will help negotiations, did you not hear the response to his rant.

I did - first time the EU have ever shown any emotion?
Yes it can do....that depends on the EU swallowing a bit of pride and talking........

It will cost a lot more than that to set up holding pens, extra police and security etc. this side of the channel.

Holding pens for who exactly?
Many that slip into the country undetected disappear and work in the black economy
Those that get caught then claim asylum and get housed

I am not questioning that, I like an MP with convictions and he certainly has that, I am questioning him as a person, his policies and he had the opportunity to make a statesmanlike speech and he came out with a childish rant which won't help us at all if we want to get our way in the exit negotiations.

He is not for me either, he is of a type I understand that..... on this issue it's clear nobody else would be better in gaining change..

The old saying is the truth hurts and the truth is telling the EU what he thinks and to their very faces....

Strange that he never denied these figures until the final result to the referendum had been announced, very strange!

Farage said the 350 million figure was wrong on question time (the one with izzard) before the referendum.
i guess all the remainers missed that episode or have selective hearing

I stand corrected, missed that particular episode as I moved on that day so had no access to the TV thanks.

Today was not one of Farages better moments as an MEP alongside the moment he referred to the then president as having the personality of a 'damp cloth'. However if you watch a lot of Farages speeches in the European Parliament he campaigns for more democracy in Europe and blasts the failure to reform and ignore democracy as the ultimate downfall that would trigger the UKs exit. He has also stood and criticised the treatment of Greece or lack of support for the Irish.

Whatever you think about him much of what he has called out over the years as being wrong about the current EU model is hard to argue with. Whilst sometimes he goes over the top someone who openly challenges the concept of the EU from within should be welcomed by all rather than criticised for not towing the party line.

And sometimes I don't talk bollocks. That doesn't qualify me to lead the nation. FFS.

Farage maybe a conviction politician but he has a something to answer for because of his continual references to mass uncontrolled immigration. These are easily interpreted as rampant xenophobia and are being used by a very small minority to justify racist attacks both against more recent EU migrants and more long established black and ethnic communities. An increase in these types of odious attacks, albeit a small increase, are beginning to be reported. This is deeply deeply disturbing and very troubling and I would urge all NSC posters on this type of political thread, whether they voted to leave or remain, to utterly condemn any form of racist attack to make sure that racism, or its ilk doesn't become more prevalent in this great country of ours.

Hove (actually)
European elections are not carried out on a first psst the post system, and I would guess most people don't know who their MEP is.

You've eloquently made the real case for Brexit. Maybe you could have added that no-one knows wtf their MEP does or is supposed to do in their names, but that was a bonus point answer.

I'd rather live In a communist country than let you have a vote...

I've read about 30 posts of yours Regarding the referendum and I've had to bite my tongue reading every single pointless post of yours, trying so hard to not retaliate to your bollox but I caved in.

You my friend are about as simple as I've seen on this board and that includes palace fans. You don't add one morsal of fact or intellect.

You are the poster boy for brexit... Well done

Much preferred the Scottish and Northern Ireland MEPs speeches, which of course received loud applause as opposed to Nigel's silence.

Given that we're out shouldn't Nigel be going on a pre-retirement course so that he can fully understand what he can invest in following his exit for the European Parliament. Don't invest in UK Stocks and share or sterling at the present as you could lose your savings and pension pot.

The Scottish and Northern Ireland MEP's were an embarrassment grovelling pair of idiots and like it or lump it they are part of the UK

I used the word "childish" in conversation with my wife last night. While some are praising his heroics, it made me squirm. How to turn the other 26 against you when you are looking to negotiate a good exit. His statesmanlike qualities are a minus quantity and he does our cause far more harm than good. No doubt he is working on the basis that they need us more than we need them, and he is wrong. Thank God others are more conciliatory.

They know what Farage is like. It won't turn anyone against us.
