Especially Gold.

Is it inversely proportional to their sense of refinement, class, dignity and poise?

Not social class. Just in the broadest sense of the word.

Absolutely, yes.

Anything more than a watch & wedding ring makes me cringe. Diamond earrings?!?!?! What. The. f***?!?

I wear a watch when going out for the evening but never at any other time as I still do some manual labour stuff.
Rings etc. get damaged so I don't bother.

I don't wear, nor do I own, any jewellery. I never have. I didn't even bother with a wedding ring as I knew I'd never wear it.

I wear a watch, a chain and two rings (one on each hand). Beyond the watch, which is obviously for practical purposes, all of the other three have specific personal value rather than just being for show.

I used to wear a fair bit (Necklace, ring, watch, ear ring, bracelet) Then I started to do well at work and noticed that you could see the chain through my white shirt and it looked, well, horrifically chavvy. ( I shoul dprobably add that it was a thick Silver Chain and Bracelet. However I had one of the Seagull Ear rings!) I took it all off that day and since I only wear a ring and an odd bracelet thing that my other half got me from Next.

I used to like it all but guess that I just grew out of it.

The more gold jewellery you wear, the more likely you are to be good at darts.
