(from colour pink's wikipedia page)
An article in the trade publication Earnshaw's Infants' Department in June 1918 said: "The generally accepted rule is pink for the boys, and blue for the girls. The reason is that pink, being a more decided and stronger color, is more suitable for the boy, while blue, which is more delicate and dainty, is prettier for the girl." From then until the 1940s, pink was considered appropriate for boys because being related to red it was the more masculine and decided colour, while blue was considered appropriate for girls because it was the more delicate and dainty colour, or related to the Virgin Mary. Since the 1940s, the societal norm was inverted; pink became considered appropriate for girls and blue appropriate for boys, a practice that has continued into the 21st century.

This thread has helped me settle what I shall be wearing at the cricket today. Thank you, NSC.

I have about three formal pink shirts, a couple of which are pink stripes rather than pure pink. if that means that a certain number of narrow minded people want to jump to conclusions, that is their problem rather than mine.

They do sometimes elicit comments from the female of the species like "I like a man in a Pink shirt".

I can remember reading something a while ago that sexuality is a scale rather than you are or you are not gay. I am in no way homophobic, have a daughter who is heading towards a civil partnership, but would certainly say that I have never had any feelings of attraction to any other male. But I have no problem with those who do.

I also read that there are two things that everybody will experience in their lives. One is feelings of attraction towards someone of the same sex. the other is serious contemplation of suicide. I can honestly say i have never done either.

Excellent summary! I seem to remember Mendoza sporting a tight pink ladies shirt for a few games, presumably he was one of the "hardest fuckers at Withdene" you were referring to ??!! I have a pink shirt by Boss and I wear it with pride!!

Brett..aka the pink oboe..was one of the "faces" in the bulldog tavern massive..they would lave embossed lace edged cards on their victims broken bodies "congratulations! You've just been restyled by the BTM"

The Treatment and the Zulu army would blanch when the chant went up "you're gonna get your plucking done and have your anus reamed"

f***ing quality...these pink colours never run.

Pink shirts on city workers look pretty naff, especially when teamed with a navy suit.

as previously stated, if your girl buys you a pink T, it is a good idea to wear it every now, but maybe not, ever so, not so, and again.
A couple of years ago I was pretty in pink in a Shoreham florists choosing flowers for my GF and a chap from the Brio restaurant came in and whilst ordering pink carnations for his food place, went out of his way in, a very nasty way to say how gay it was to be associated with pink - was he on to something, or was he a pathetic figure being 50+ with rank dyed wrong black hair, odd musculature that "in no way could have been made from steroids" and not at all racist, posting a banner outside his restaurant saying "only true Italian restaurant ...." - perhaps taking a swipe at another Shoreham Italian restaurant, not owned by ethnic Italians - their food tastes nicer to me -
don't frikin care who owns it, or what colour your shirt is :)

Pink is only a "woman's" colour due to society telling you it is. Why can't people wear whatever colour they like?
