Sitting at home today during the Kids Summer Holidays i started to remember the TV I used to watch during our 6 week break. Today its all the usual weekday rubbish you get all year round. TV in the School Holidays used to be special.

Now I know there are a lot of Kids TV channels now and we should be encouraging Children to be outside and enjoy our Summer Weather !! However what happened to those programmes we used to enjoy...

Pink Panther

Littlest Hobo

Godzilla

Anyone got anymore ??

Was thinking about....

Chopper Squad Australian show
The Flying Kiwi New Zeland show
The Henderson Kids
Sport Billy
Red Hand Gang
Roland Rat, Michaela Strachan, Mad Lizzie on TVAM
Lassie
Kickstart

They always used to have a film aimed at kids or families

BMX Bandits
Terence Hill / Bud Spencer film (They were big in the 80s)
UK Children's Film Foundation Films
Digby the biggest dog in the world

When you mentioned translated it reminded me of this..(my sister watched it !)

Oh no - had forgotten about that one!!

Robinson Crusoe was translated as well, I think.

Banana Splits was the best though - Arabian Knights ("Size of an elephant!!") and the cartoon with the car that shrank? Memory is getting hazy now. Am sure there was another cartoon as well in Banana Splits but cannot remember what it was.

My 11 year old autistic son loves Wacky Races, Hair Bear Bunch and Hong Kong Phooey. It is something that we can connect with and it is great to watch them again.

Yeah, the Banana Splits also had a cartoon about the Three Musketeers. The car one, was it called 'Microcar'?

Also the summer was a time when Flash Gordon or Buck Rogers (the old ones with Buster Crabbe) would get an airing. Plus Tarzan (Johnny Wiesmuller?), White Horses, The Flashing Blade, Laurel and Hardy. Kids TV today pales into insignificance against that lot!
