Without derailing the thread, I don't buy that - never have done. This is a guy who seemingly lives and breathes football and yet hasn't heard of one of the host prospects in the championship? Plus RDZ had been at the club at the time the deal was being planned and done.

...it’s all well and good saying “Oh we support the women’s side with investment”, but they get 1 game a year at the Amex and they don’t even pick opponents that make sense. Chelsea, United and Arsenal always bring loads of fans and would be MUCH more attractive for casual fans. If they want to grow the fan base they need to make a few sensible choices

Any Premier League chairman including TB could comfortably buy their way into the top 3 and European places, and quite possibly even the WSL title, with an additional £1-1.5m outlay.

The current women's transfer fee record (Ramirez to Chelsea) is £426K.
The next two, Walsh and Roord, went to Barcelona and City for £400K and £300K+ respectively.

I've previously advocated on here for all the Albion Women's games to be at the Amex for plenty of reasons including equality and fanbase growth. The biggest WSL attendances are always with many parents seeing it as a cheap family day out at the home stadium, with a local derby adding further interest. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that at all, especially in the midst of a cost of living crisis.
6,951 attended the Spurs game at the Amex in October. That's almost double the current average home attendance of 3,571.

So why hasn't any chairman decided to buy success so far, especially with sponsorship and TV money now coming into the game?
No financial fair play rules in the women's game have been announced with the governance of NewCo from next season.

if you look at the interim recruitments from within I'd suggest this has been in the pipeline for a while, but was waiting for those contracts to be negotiated first. Coaches moving from mens football to women's is not something that would have happened in a few mins after a press conference
