MEGHAN MARKLE and Prince Harry's "independent" living dream was dealt a massive blow after their plans to trademark the Sussex Royal brand was blocked.
The branding was blocked following a complaint from an Australian doctor, according to The Sun. It had been hoped that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would be able to flog a variety of items with the Royal Sussex branding on. They had earmarked products such as hoodies and postcards to have the branding on.
But the couple could now become embroiled in a legal dispute following the opposition.
Reports claim that the couple want to try and keep the “royal” aspect of the branding.
Experts say this could be worth billions.
But according to documents at the Government’s Intellectual Property Office, a “notice of threatened opposition” had been registered.
