Why would he stay here when he will get a club in the championship no problem? Too small to ever make it at United imo, we'll see.

Been a privilege to watch him get better and better this season, good no nonsense player, we'll miss him.

Would have voted no fecking chance at any price and however much we need him but that options not on the poll.

Can we have Tommy Black?

Tommy is a good player when he knuckles down, he was superb when he first joined us from Arsenal but picked up a couple of injuries and never really got back into the side when Dowie took over. Gillingham fans love him apparently, you could do a lot worse than having a look at him. I tell you what you can have tommy and Wayne Andrews and you we will take McShane off your hands! ;)

Rather not have Wayne Andrews, always used to get on my nerves when he was at Aldershot, still he has done OK.

Tommy Black and Tommy Doherty would be useful additions.

Andrews is as quick as Johnson but has the brain of a turnip!

Would do a great job at league 1 level IMO though

He did OK in that league for Colchester and Oldham, but he is more of a winger from memory and we have a few of those, OK most of them are not great crossers, but we do have the odd winger.

Very odd!! ;) In all seriousness whatever league we end up playing in next season Dowie has some major rebuilding to do, there are at least 6 players who are there now who wont be next season for sure. Rihiilahti, Andrews, Black, Speroni, Freedman, Hudson.

are his knees going to be an issue, especially when it comes to a full time deal?

I hope so, might scare all the other clubs off. And then we could get him on an affordable wage.

Ah Freedman, like Shipperley last year, is probably exactly the sort of player we need, so no chance of him coming here.

He would be a great signing if you could get him but i think Dougie will stay in the championship to be honest he is still a very good player

How about the last game at Stoke we call it 'Paul McShane Day' in appreciation to Paul from the fans. Maybe even have peices of paper for people to hold up when the team come out with seperate peices of paper saying 'Legend', 'McShane', '79th Minute'

???

Nice sentiments. But practically speaking, it would look pretty gay.

The way our defence has performed recently I'd prefer to have Ian McShane at the back.

I can't believe the number of posters who have said 'yes, whatever the cost.' Since when have we been made of money?? I'd pay 80k tops for him.

McShane is a class act and a young kiddie. Could only be a sound investment. Not stupid money, but a hefty chunk. Seen 200K bandied about on here, which sounds about right.

Not that he'll want to play in Div.One mind. And Reading are always hiring gingers.
