The Dons were looking super fit and all the players seem to have bulked up this season, Brighton looked like poor specimens in comparison.

All these factors seem at a recent all time low

1. Team morale
2. Player quality
3. Player experience
4. Player fitness
5. Player effort

Yep- nothing has changed, out muscled, tactically outclassed, no proven goal scorer, poor moral and club still trying to charge £23.50 for a ticket so poor attendances.

*sigh*

Nice to see everyone has taken their happy pills this morning. FFS get over it will you. We are not going to be able attract all the players people keep banging on about until we have got a final decision on Falmer. No one likes Withdean and that means players, opposition and fans but that is what we have got at the moment and we have to live with it. MM has been well documented in saying that we have tried and tried to get players in but no one wants to come to Withdean.
The LDC have got a lot to answer for as they are doing what they want to do by slowly killing our beloved club. Lets stop venting our anger at MM and the players we have because at least they want the Albion and want it to survive.

I partly agree but Withdean did not prevent the following from joining either permanently or on loan:-

Butters
Dodd
Kitson
Barrett
Sidwell
Ingimarrson
Benjamin
Yeates
Junior Lewis
Iwelumo
Knight
Roberts
Henderson

Now not all of them were a success but they were signings that were well received by the fans at the time because they were from clubs at a higher level. A couple of signings of that quality would be extremely well received by the fans at the moment. Now if you are talking about Withdean is a factor 'cos of the lack of money - yes I admit the money situation has clearly got worse over the years - running costs have got higher and the club cannot keep making loss after loss - However we have lost a lot of major wage earners over the last two years AND the club keep harping on about making big offers for Tom Brighton and Danny Dichio - so what are the fans meant to think??? I think the current squad really needs some fresh faces as I think it is far worse that the squad that got to the play off final.

Yes the side is not as good as the play off side and a lot of the players you mentioned were loan signings which is going to be the way forward. We will get lucky with other players like we did with Currie but it is not easy to get good players in as proved with dan dickhead refusing to sign for us and being content with reserve team football.

I think the thing fans will not forgive, is if the players wearing the stripes are not prepared to die for the club for the 90 minutes they are on the pitch.

Even if they are young, old, inexperienced or disenchanted they are getting paid to do a job.

Ahhh yes, Our last couple of games at home last season. Totally agree that performances like that are just not on as far as us supporters are concerned. Lets hope I never have to experience that again.

There's no doubt it's now much harder to attract good quality players to Brighton. Dick Knight was successful in persuading good players to come down here partly because he could reasonably argue, albeit optmistically, that Falmer was 2 years away; and that was 3 or 4 years ago. But now, as the Falmer issue has dragged on and on, there seems to be a perception amongst players that Falmer may not happen. And really you can't blame them can you? How do we feel? I'm bored senseless by the issue. Withdean is a dump. Who wants to play there when you can play at Millwall, Bristol City, Swansea etc..

There's a week until we kick off. We have added just one player to the squad - another non league player. Hardly the household name we were promised. News that we tried to sign Geoff Horsefield doesn't impress me - as if he was going to sign for us? Now that is a pipedream. The same with Dicchio. How many clubs announce they've FAILED to sign a striker? I'm sorry it's bollocks. I'd rather the club said there was no money and were going to make do with what we've got rather than insult my intelligence with phoney PR stunts.

We've got a very tough start... Forest, Bristol City, Millwall, and Crewe in the first month. We must improve the squad otherwise, make no mistake, we will struggle.

Sort it out.

I cannot believe you have taken a bit of unsubstantiated copy from presumably a subjective match report and from it extracted those five problems.

Do you have any evidence that our players are not fit or are not trying? Please let me now if you do.

The backline is to inexperienced with 2 players out of position..
The midfield has'nt got 1 creative player amongst them..same as last season.
The forward line will struggle..same as last season
Supporters jerked off with having to pay the highest entrance money at the gates..
false promises that new players are coming and as someone else stated we are attempting to sign unrealistic targets knowing full well they have no intention of ever signing for us.....
Think were in for a good season

absolutely agree with this.

we have shot ourselves in the foot over recent seasons by fannying around spending money and time on the wrong targets.

we need to get back to basics and just sign decent players, who play at a higher level, who will strengthen our team. its not rocket science and it isn't as hard to do as MM makes out.

So how did this total sack of shit beat a Championship team three days ago then?

Any clue to that in your analysis?

Yes, because of the youth team defence, which we will strengthen with experienced players by next week.

You can't keep ignoring the positives from the U's game I'm afraid, much as you want to :)
