It was not this lot. Core players such as Brooker, Zamora and Ingarmarrson are not with us. Players such as Rodger and Blackwell are getting even nearer the end of their careers and coming back from serious injury. Looks very different to me.

Too true, plus a certain Mr Sidwell and even too an extent Barrett.

We are a good 5 players short of the quality we had last time, maybe 3 if Virgs and Harding do Prove good enough.

Yep, just like I did in January when lots of people were writing the team off.

I'm a born optimist. :)

I think Knight will prove an equal player to Zammo in this league, i know that's going to be unpopular but it's what i think.

Ingimarsson was good but i don't see any problems defensively.
Remember that McGhee is still looking at players, I trust him to bring in a couple of decent signings to bolster our first XI.

I am probably more optimistic this time, there are at least 10 teams in the division that we should able to give a good run for their money, even with the present team. Last time out we were ultimately sunk by our performances under Hinshelwood, I can't see it being anywhere near that bad with MM, the fact that it went to the last few games of the season to decide our fate was nothing short of miraculous given the start we had.

As a Brighton fan I am an optimist, without that I have nothing.

Who's to know if he will last as our manager the whole of the season.....
He said he wanted 4 new players after the play-off win. Looks like he will be lucky if he gets two 'new' players.

If he performs miracles and keeps us away from the trap door, any teams early on in the season with managerial casualties will look at him as a potentail new manager, and he will jump due to our lack of funds and attracting players.

Or he may get frustrated by the fact that a relegation will not do his CV any credit.....

Sorry, but I think it is vital he is given some money at least to get his 4 players, particularly now Iwelumo is gone:nono: :nono:

I am certain that he won't jump ship. He wants to bury that reputation once and for all.

But his contract only lasts to the end of the season - who knows what will hapeen then?
