After one game and wants the fans to show some patience this season.

Read his comments on the official site re Tuesday on the ironic cheering of Jake Robinson.

He is absolutely right, but will it make a difference? I doubt it

He was absolutely spot-on with what he said, and it should make the crowd be a bit more patient on Saturday because he accepted some of the responsbility for what happened on Tuesday.

The ironic cheering wasn't aimed at Robinson but the team as a whole because it was the only shot on target we managed in 90 minutes, which was more like a back-pass. Unfortunately, it happened to come from Jake so it looked like the crowd were having a dig at him alone, and they weren't.

Mcghee has got a past record for slagging off Millwall fans for got getting behind their team.

Whereas, he may be right, it is not a wise thing to say. Making the same mistake twice would be idiocy.

it wasnt ironic cheering, Mr McGhee.

We paid shed loads of money for a season ticket which equates to about £22 a game and we had ONE SHOT!

AT cardiff we cheered till our heads fell off, on Tuesday we couldn't believe the inpetitued of the performance.

1st rule of football supporting.................cheer when we are doing well, get depressed when we are shit. Surely Mr McGhee realises this

I blame him for the negative "one up front" tactic.

Hope he addresses that this Saturday, else we might as well not bother. I don't mind the Albion loosing, but they've got to give 100% and at least show some sort of attacking football.

Anyhow, rant over! Up the Albion! :drink:

I think he does realise it DtG, he says that he's looked at his own performance Tuesday and knows he could've done better with the team.

It is a dangerous game to start having a dig at the crowd though, Micky Adams is about the only one who ever got away with it.

Turn on McGhee then, not the team. Unless you think having a go at the team will fill them with confidence otherwise it's totally counterproductive. It's one bad game for chrissake.

Were we any worse against Swindon?, the crowd DID make a difference in the end that day. If we'd all started moaning and ironically cheering we'd still be where Swindon are.

I like McGhee. I think he's a good manager, I think he's the right man for the job

Of course we support our team. It is not, though, blind faith.

When confronted with complete ineptitue (and as DTG quite rightly points out) having paid a large amount for the privilege, I think we are entltled to tell the players and management that we don't find it acceptable.

If they don't like it, then tough.

They should ensure that it doesn't happen again.

ANyway, I expect a huge improvement v Coventry tomorrow

I like McGhee and I think he speaks from the heart in a way reminiscent of Chris Cattlin. I don't agree with everything he says but, as with all observers at a football match, you get a very different perspective depending on where you are. He's praised us enough in the past to forgive him having a bit of a pop, which is at least partly justified.

A young team playing at a higher level than they are used to will need much encouragement not moaning as soon as things go wrong.
mcghee has admitted his fault in the formation for the game. and every body seemed fairly happy with the performance at reading. not only that the next game after coventry we will start getting players back from injury and suspension, although wigan will be a tough place to go it will give us more idea of how the team is gonna shape up.
so dont get on their backs so soon.

I totally agree. Talking of patience, I have little patience with people who walk out early as a form of protest, obstructing my view, and those who audibly slag off the players/ manager etc. I pay the same as everybody else to watch Brighton, home and away, and don't subscribe to the view that it gives me the right to shout abuse and adverse comments. I'm as disappointed as the rest when things go badly on the pitch but, personally, I feel shouting encouragement is far more constructive than the negativity that some people display. I know people are entitled to their views and criticisms can be made, but to slag off players during the match is counter-productive.

It isn't a question of 'having the right to moan' it is all about what the impact on the team will be. In this case and at this stage of a season there is no way that moaning, ironic cheering etc. will have anything other than a negative impact on a team lacking experience, and inevitably belief, at this level. It might make some people feel better to have a go but it ain't helping the side.

On Tuesday one of the worst offenders in H block was turned on by some of those around him and as a far as I am concerned they had the right to tell him to 'f..king shut up'.
