This is the first thread i've seen since logging onto NSC after 'the news' about GP. I decided to stay away last night.

MM sounds like a good idea for a few weeks. What are the other names being thrown around for 'interim manager'?

That's a bit like asking H from Steps if he fancies filling in for Mumford and Sons at Glastonbury if their mush doesn't recover from his brain surgery.

Of course he'd be happy to do. I'm sure Barry Lloyd would as well if they rang him up and asked him!

If we do take up McGhees offer then it will confirm that the Club is planning on the back of a fag packet

All the players will be doing for the next week, is fitness work. Not entirely understanding why a manager is required. Matt Miller and Herr Doctor would have been the main men this week anyway - let them get on with their jobs.

Luke Williams is already there, good enough for the DS why not let him take the training (only fitness really)

There's almost certainly a new manager lined up so its a non-story. If there isn't though, having Mark come in for a couple of weeks wouldn't be a bad thing at all. The only problem is with the length of time this could take he'd probably become an interim-interim manager which would make the whole situation even more comical.

I'd be happy for him to step in as interim namager. He did a good job for use originally first time round, OK, it went all pear shaped at the end, but he did get us promoted and kept us in the Championship for a season against all the odds at a time when we had no money and no proper ground.

Got no problem with McGhee taking the first few training sessions, as long as the interim period is short.

It's not as though, I would have thought, he will be dealing with tactics and set-plays.

This. Although as this was always the likely outcome to the Gus situation, I would have thought the club would have already have someone in mind. Or is that too sensible?? :dunce:
