Steve McClaren will be confirmed as the England manager following a board meeting of the Football Association on Thursday, according to senior sources.

At least it's not Allardyce eh?

I'm not too displeased I must say. If it was going to be one of the English choices I'm glad it was him (though hope he brings in Pearce or Curbs in some role or another).

Don't write him off just yet.

What? Why at least it's not Allardyce? You do talk shit sometimes!
When your own players, and pretty intelligent and loyal ones like Southgate say that you've no real leadership ability and your club's supporters want you sacked for most of the season, you should not be anywhere near the England job, especially when you've had vast amounts of money at your disposal and still can't get anywhere in the league

It's a shit job, but pays well. Can understand why a decent foreign coach wouldn't want the job and everyone who moans that Arsenal aren't an English club any more should be delighted they've given the job to the best qualified Englishman. It will make no difference anyway, we'll always be just making up the numbers.

What a great week for English football...

First Rooney breaks his foot and is left needing 'a miracle' to be fit for the world cup.

Then McClaren gets confirmed as the next England manager.

What a pile of cock.

Another pansy choice by the F.A. They deserve what they'll get, another 40 years without any trophy by appointing McLarens.
