Lukey has passed 1000 first class runs - a good season in prospect for him. Tucker looking in good nick as well

If Wright can carry this form on and get his bowling up a notch it's not too hard to imagine him in the test side before long playing Flintoff's role.

Think you could be right. 105* now. 407/5 RMJ 56* at nearly a run a ball.

Declaration soon perhaps?

And tea being taken.

Luke Wright - 100 off 145 balls
now 143 off 167 20 x 4s 3x 6s

Bear in mind though, that no Lancashire guys are playing. Would have been an innings defeat if they were.

Bad light stopped play.

Wright on song as Sussex dominate

Lord's (day three, stumps): Sussex 171 all out, 474-3 v MCC 205 all out

Luke Wright hit a career-best 155 not out as Sussex dominated day three of their season-opener against the MCC, ending the day on 474-5 at Lord's. The England international hit 21 fours and three sixes in his 168-ball knock, sharing an unbeaten 179-run partnership with Robin Martin-Jenkins (71 not out).

Earlier, opener Chris Nash fell 10 runs short of a maiden first-class century, while wicket-keeper Matt Prior hit 44. Graham Onions and Charlie Shreck were the only MCC bowlers to take a wicket.

The intermittent rain showers failed to dampen Wright's aggressive knock, helping the county champions to establish a formidable 440-run lead. With Gloucestershire seamer Steve Kirby playing no further part in the match after he released from hospital following a horrific blow to the head, MCC captain Ed Joyce's bowling options had become limited.

Durham fast bowler Graham Onions made the early breakthrough, trapping Nash lbw for 90 with the score at 187-4. But his dismissal brought Wright to the crease and the 23-year-old capitalised on the weakened bowling attack. The all-rounder put on a 108-run fifth-wicket stand with Prior before his partner edged a Shreck track to keeper James Foster.

But Martin-Jenkins maintained the run flow of his predecessor, helping Wright to reach three figures with a boundary off Onions. And it took Wright just 32 balls to reach the 150 mark, handing out particularly brutal battering to Yorkshire leg-spinner Adil Rashid, smashing 20 off one over.

With a considerable second-innings lead on the final day's play, Sussex captain Chris Adams is likely declare early to give his bowlers as much time as possible to skittle the home side out.
