For me, only Bertin, Hammond and Butters were better.

The grief he gets on here is generally unfair, and usually unwarranted, and occasionally out of order.

Spot on.

I was out and about in the car this afternoon so had BBC Radio Bristol on, who were providing live commentary from the game.

From early on, they identified Mayo as a weak link and said the City player on that flank (can't remember the name of him now) had the beating of him every time.

That, quite frankly, is bollocks.

But that's BBC local radio for you.

It's not bollocks - it's what they said.

You may think their opinion was bollocks, of course, but you didn't say that.

Mayo is Brighton through and through therefore no manager would ever get rid of him and will play him at every opportunity to instill his reputation within the supporters as a true 'Brightonian'.
albeit from Cuckfield

It just shows how fans are split almost down the middle when it comes to Kezza.

Thought he played quite well. Not a fan of Mayo at all, never have been, but it was definitely one of his better games. Thought El-Abd was poor.

Never understand this point of view. I've never really rated Mayo, but if he plays well I'll say he played well. Some people seem to base their opinions on player's perfomances on whether they generally rate them or not, instead of how they actually played that game.

First two corners weren't bad, one great tackle but his use of the ball is still poor. I can see why he was recalled as he usually has a stormer after being recalled and I though Rents was easily beaten against gills but Mayo hasnt done anything to warrant a recall next week.
