I thought he had one of his better games this season, looked confident on the ball, positioning was right and made some crucial interventions

Exactly. I spoke to someone today who claimed Fraser deserves a place in the team because he "runs around a lot." Excuse me, but anyone out of the crowd with a vague grasp of fitness could do that! Too many players are in this squad on sentiment alone.

And that is the point i was making to you last week.

They are in the squad because we have no-one better, and the board didn't make an effort to sign anyone better.

I thought Mayo had a reasonable game today. I can list at least 4 or 5 players that played worse. I think its unfair that he is under the spotlight every game he plays. The reason he stays season after season is firstly he always gives 100%, secondly he can play in a number of positions and thirdly we can't afford anyone better. I think he'll get another year on his contract.

Defensively he was fine, but I wish he didn't have to resort to hoofing the ball when clearing it downfield El Abd style. Kerry can hit a much better pass than that and it was crying out for someone to hit some quality passes today. By the way, does anyone know if Rents was injured. He didn't have that bad a game against Gillingham.

Both him and El-Abd have the distibution skills of Parcelforce, we need 2 new full backs as a priority for next year.
