Maximum Away Ticket Price in Prem League

They'll only agree to it if the fans vote with their feet and don't attend. Will fans boycott matches? That's the acid test. The club owners are betting they won't.

Won't happen because prices for home tickets will have to fall to the same level to avoid discriminatory pricing.

Surely the cap needs to be a bit higher than that? They are correct in what they are saying but it needs to be for all of football, and a different level in each division. Say £30 Prem, £25 Champ and £20 below that. For all tickets not just away though.

Surely the cap needs to be a bit higher than that? They are correct in what they are saying but it needs to be for all of football, and a different level in each division. Say £30 Prem, £25 Champ and £20 below that. For all tickets not just away though.

There in lays the biggest problem. The cost of tickets has to be set by the clubs, we might as well bulldoze The Amex if we can only charge £25, we will just not survive. Its all well and good stating that the premiership clubs can survive (or at least continue at the same levels) with the added TV money next year, the rest simply can't. Due to the continued greed of the big clubs the very existence of the lower ones will be in doubt. Yes all players in the top leagues are on ludicrous wages but you can't simply lower takings without changing everyone's contracts by a similar amount and that will certainly not happen.

Yes, I was rather assuming that along with this new equitable ticket price there would be a new equitable TV deal and proper restrictions on player wages. None of it is going to happen though, so it is all a dream until someone wakes up and realises that the Germans have got it right, again.

I don't think they need to cap the maximum price, some clubs offer premium facilities and corporates but we are always being told that these top prices help to keep other tickets 'affordable'

What would be better is a percentage of seats priced at an affordable level
