I just find the idea of Maximo Park playing the Dome a bit ridiculous.

Not that ridiculous my friend. They headlined a NME show at the Dome in 2006 with Arctic Monkeys & We are Scientists as support acts.

Maximo park were the best band of the lot

OUR VELOCITY, one of my fave songs. Didn't like their first album, thought the 2nd album was superb, havent listened to the 3rd album much, might dig it out.......

I saw the same NME tour show but in The Guildhall, Pompey. A lot of the audience went after The Arctic Monkeys but Maximo were indeed head and shoulders above the rest, Paul Smith makes a great front man, manic when he is singing but very understated and intelligent when talking to the audience.

This is, on paper, not Mrs V's cup of tea but I am dragging her to this gig as I have sat through so many wailing country pluckers for her.
