I know its been mentioned before but would be great to get the Maupay song going. Its to The Cure song - Friday I'm In Love:

I don’t care if Sterling’s Blue, Salah’s red and Rashford too
Zaha I don’t care about you, It’s Maupay, I’m in love

I've heard it a couple of times at away games but only a few people singing it.

Prefer the "Zaha you can F@#K off too" version.

It's more shithouse, like the man himself.

My song would be a tribute to the Maupay haters who have disappeared after a summer of saying he wasn't good enough.

The silicon chip inside his head
Gets switched to shithouse
And everybodys laughing at Palace today
He told them to shut their mouths
My daddy doesn't understand it
He always said he had poor xg
And he can see no reasons
'Cause there are no reasons
What reason do you need to see?

You don't like Maupay
(Tell me why)
You don't like Maupay
(Tell me why)
You don't like Maupay
He's gonna shoot, dont let it bounce.

I can't get past NSC being the anti-Maupay brigade all through the summer but now a hero. My song would be a tribute to the Maupay haters who have disappeared.

And everybodys laughing at Palace today
He told them to shut their mouths
My daddy doesn't understand it
He always said he had poor xg

You don't like Maupay
(Tell me why)
You don't like Maupay
(Tell me why)
You don't like Maupay
He's gonna shoot, dont let it bounce.

Well, that’s not much of an olive branch.

I think the Habib Beye chant is one of those you simply don't touch, as the name is too perfect. :lolol:

Agree with others though, I'd love the Cure one to take off but I think "Maupay in the 95th" has the best chance by far. Next home game, make it happen.

I think this calls for a Beatles number:

Remember that day, at Palace away
Mau-pay in the 95th
He cupped his ears, left Zaha in tears,
While the Holmesdale lost their shit.

Oh, we’ll get by with a little help from Maupay
Mm, we’ll get high with a little help from Maupay
Gonna fly with a little help from Maupay
Do we need anybody ? It’s Neal Maupay we love
We can beat anybody, it’s Neal Maupay we love

Great thread.

As has been said, "Maupay in the 95th" is perfect for Saturday given his winner against Arsenal too. Shouldn't take too much to get that going just after kick off.

Classic NSC thread this.

Someone posts words to an actually-very-good chant that has already gained a bit of traction and needs a wider audience.

173 others reply with their own not-quite-as-good ideas for a song

Net result: still no song

The original song is decent but obviously hasn't quite hit the spot having been around for quite a while and not catching on. Probably because it is a bit complicated - the original song only known by a certain demographic - and the references to "Sterling", "Salah" and "Rashford" seem a bit forced. Also it doesn't have that quality of being naturally repeated/continued so that it spreads across stands at The Amex...

"Maupay in the 95th" would be a good laugh on Saturday.

Maybe The Cure one will still have its time if worked on at away games etc

You don't get to be the 174th just by repeating yourself

Forget the others, this is the one!

It needs to be sung regularly and LOUDLY on Saturday. His name needs the loudest cheer when read out too. He needs to know how appreciated he is and feel the love we are all feeling for him this week!

Monday night elevated him to the level of Albion legend and he needs to know it!

I was also thinking this hasn't gone anywhere.

Let's stick to the song that is already being sung. It is short and simple. I would be an advocate for the "Zaha you can **** off too" variation but I'm more than happy to go with the OP's words.

Let's not get detracted by any other ideas; let's make sure we learn the words for Saturday. It would be embarrassing if Barber had to put the words up on the big screens for us :D

I don’t care if Sterling’s Blue, Salah’s red and Rashford too
Zaha I don’t care about you, It’s Maupay, I’m in love
