Arsenal need to stop blaming the world. All of their problems are of the own making. They need to be looking at themselves

With 3 injuries in 2 games, Arsenal may want to look at their training regime maybe? ???

I've worked with a number of Arsenal fans over the years. They have a sense of entitlement in that they think they only need to turn up to claim the three points as it is their right to beat "teams like Brighton". Same goes for Man U and Liverpool fans.
I've also worked with Palace fans and I would rather go to the pub and talk football with them any day of the week.

Yeah same experience here..

The idea that Arsenal are still part of the elite (in regards to footballing performance) is massively outdated.
It has been a long time since any premier league club has looked at a fixture against Arsenal with trepidation.
Wenger worked miracles to keep them in the top 4 for as long as he did.

They are in decline in the same way Liverpool were 30 years ago.
There is no quick fix for them.

Their fans are going to have to put up with a lot more disappointment.

I hope they continue in this snowflake vein. The longer they seek to blame anyone but themselves for their deficenes the longer it will be before they do anything about it. The prat on ATV reminded me of a 5 year old being told off and he needs psychiatric help. It's a foul just about, but that is it and its a foul that happens 2 or 3 times in every game. They failed to take their chances when on top and failed to defend properly 2nd half when we came into the game, if they want to ignore that and blame Maupay then let em...

Just read this in an Arsenal blog

"So, one sly little nudge from Maupay to try and win his team a free kick has all these knock-on effects and complications for Arsenal. It feels like we’ve been hugely punished while the bloke who caused it all gets away without any kind of censure. In rugby, a game where there is massive physical contact, a player who deliberately challenges an opponent who is in the air with no intention to win the ball gets a red card. It’s high time football recognised this is something that happens in our game too, and does something about it."

Thoughts?

Thoughts are someone doesn't understand the difference between sports. The rugby 'in air' tackle is grabbing someone around the body and dumping them to the ground while they are in the air. Maupay is simply moving to challenge for a ball and there is a coming together. The actual reason Leno got injured was his proximity to the edge of his box and he lost his bearings a bit. Anywhere else Maupay's challenge is nothing, if Leno isn't worrying about his area, this injury doesn't happen. Leno realising it was tight could easily have headed or punched the ball out for a throw, but he sought an advantage of possession while under pressure. Normally he would just dive to the floor holding the ball, he couldn't because he would have handled the ball. Still think it's a misjudgement but the keeper, a massively unfortunate and unlucky outcome, but there it is.

Don’t care about Arsenal or what their fans think until we play them again next season in search of another 6 point haul.

From what I've seen from Arsenal supporters in their blogs or tweets, it looks like many of them don't really watch much football. Wasn't there a Harry Enfield character who was a new convert to football and got everything wrong? I really don't think that many of the people moaning about Maupay have seen many games - and certainly never played it.

I'm not sure that the "everyone bullies Arsenal" line has much truth in it, either. I'm sure there was a stat that showed that Wenger's Arsenal had more red cards than any other PL team - they were certainly near the top of the ill discipline league. And old habits die hard - as seen by Lacazette's studs-up challenge and Sideshow Bob's sly dig.

Didn't one of the AFTV lot say (in all seriousness) that Maupay should be banned from the game for life?

Arsenal fans have been blessed by years of unprecedented growth and a long period of success both in terms of trophies and playing style. Their fans seem to think that makes them inherently better as a club now. They've got one of the worst boards in the league, an entitled fanbase who can't get excited about anything, and have destroyed the legacy of the man who delivered on and off pitch success. They deserve nothing and until they realise it, I will not stop cackling at their blinkered arrogance.

I think they lost, and a lot of their supporters can't get round the temerity of a team like Brighton actually beating them.

If it's the other way around then they wouldn't be having any such discussion. I'm sorry for their keeper, but it's just bad luck, the same incident could happen a 1000 times over and no one gets hurt.

You're 100% correct, but you can't blame them. It was a tiny nudge, but if it were the other way around, we'd be doing the same and calling for Maupay's head.

That's football.

Thoughts? I listen to the professionals like Rio Ferdinand, Alan Shearer and Gary Linekar who say it was a normal jump for the ball which happens in any match, the result being an accident.
Unlike Lacazette who went in, studs up on Ryan.

Thread closed

To be fair, he could have a point. We put these young lads in the line of DANGER week in and week out purely for our own entertainment, with no consideration whatsoever that with all that running around and kicking things, they could at any time seriously fall over and HURT themselves. We really are such selfish creatures as football fans. Enough’s enough, any foul should warrant a straight red card and automatic season long ban. Maupay OUT!

Maybe they never saw Ian Wright challenge a keeper then?

Im still amazed Lewis Dunk is allowed to play the game after what he did to Billy Sharp that day - Billy’s not had a career since too.

And to put it into perspective, Reece what’s his face the Chelsea right back broke Burns collarbone for a far far far more aggressive challenge than Maupay - but we didn’t bleat on about it. As it was a fair challenge in theory - just very strong and possibly too much force and totally uncalled for. Arsenal fans eh...

You simply cannot judge an offence on any resulting injury - Mike Dean, a so called top ref, did exactly that and possibly cost us promotion. An injury should have zero bearing on the offence and punishment. None.

Typical reaction where the severity of the injury is used to justify the requirement of a much stiffer penalty regardless of how the injury was caused.

Just waiting for the MP for Islington to ask a question in Parliament calling for Maupay to be sanctioned.
