Yeh some people are way too harsh on him cos he missed a couple of chances. He’s 23 ffs and whilst there’s room for improvement, he has time to improve. He’s been a great signing. Some of NSC don’t realise his movement and how important it is. One of the best off the ball in the prem league!

Not to mention his hold up play and tenacity.

You seem to know a fan of every football club going!

Just work for a large conglomerate. The french guy lives outside Perpignan and madly, he goes and watches Italian football every weekend.

He was the one who was convinced we were getting Gatuso as manager before Hughton.

Thank goodness he was wrong.

Wasn’t there an Arsenal one who said Dunk was definitely going there? Thank god he was wrong.

Gatuso would have been interesting - he’s an animal!

We have quite a gooner contingent...all a bit up themselves and yes they were all convinced he was going there.

Worryingly they still are.

Exactly - I really like him and but for two or three top drawer saves against him he’d easily be in double figures by now. Best all round striker we’ve had at this level, with Murray shading him in terms of finishing... which is no bad thing! considering his age and the way he’s handled the pressure of a pretty hefty fee by our standards... well, he’s been a brilliant signing. He’s a real GP man too - if his interviews are anything to go by.

I’d be amazed, bemused and devastated if he went so quickly.

Has to be bollocks surely?

I hope he stays. I like him and his swagger.

Its pretty cool to have such a rumour about one of our players though.

Could see it happening but they’d have to break the bank.

Just wow at the hate for Maupay here.

The lad has done fantastic as far as I’m concerned. 7 goals in his debut PL season is a great return for a club like us. And he still has another half the season left.

Look at the variety of goals he’s scores. Long range, precise headers, left foot, right foot.

I think he’s a good character as well.

£20m? That’s been a bargain as far as I’m concerned. £40 million would not turn my head with Premiership revenue on the line.

Who has shown any hate for him?

I certainly haven't, principally because I don't hate him.

But I don't see him as a £40m player which is why I've loaded the car up with Starburst and mint imperials. But I'd only let him into my car if a replacement had been bought.

Who could we buy as a replacement for £60m. Which is the war chest if you add the £40m it to the £20m Leeds fans reckons their club will give us for Ben White. (Who would only ever want to come back to Brighton if Leeds stay in the Champ and we stay in the Prem...)

A replacement like Newcastle’s £40mil striker? Just not worth doing it as any replacement is a risk. He may be worth £40mil to us (the £20mil we paid for him and the other £20mil for his vital goals). But agree he’s not worth that at present - although he is much younger than he looks!

50 million for White :) not worth selling him otherwise

Is this the same Napoli?

By attendance, Napoli have the fourth biggest fanbase in Italy, and were ranked as the fifth highest-earning football club in Serie A, with $182 million in revenue during the 2017–18 season. In 2018, Forbes estimated the club is the fifth most valuable club in Italy, worth $379 million.

Their record signing was Hirving Lozano (who played and- I think- scored in the last World Cup) for £35 million), therefore it would seem highly improbable that they are considering forking out more than that for a Premier League striker with seven top flight goals to his name. They may have a lot of revenue, but I bet they also have debts.

I love Le Petit Shithouse, by the way, and I'd like to think he'll be with us for a while.
