when I say overlooked, I'm not talking about just this board.

post game chats with friends and people in pubs and around the ground, rarely mention Mattocks contribution as i said it will generally be around our attacking players and rightly so.

Mattock is seemingly doing a great job and its good that a lot of people seem to recongise this on this thread.

With all the praise going towards Vicente of late (and rightly so) Mattocks loan spell has gone slightly over looked in my opinion.

the last 3 games he has been class, solid and relaible and against Derby he looked a real attacking threat, gets forward when he needs to and is rarley out of place.

Could improve on his crossing a little but everything else seems very neat and tidy.

I hope we sign him.

I fully agree with this.

Mattock has been very solid over the last few weeks, although like a lot of players, struggles against a quick winger.

Still a bit annoyed with him about the handball at Doncaster. Like Dunk at Pompey, its a really stupid thing to do, and the dropped points in that game and against Forest in injury points have made it harder than it may have been to get in the play-offs. That's football I suppose.

I hope we sign him - he looks committed to the cause as well - I thought he was going to cry when he hit the post against Pompey!

He's been excellent - It'd be a real coup if we could sign him permanently.

Was sat next to his Dad at Blackpool - and he seemed to think Joe was really happy at Brighton, and keen to stay.

Quality player, sign him up Gus!

Does his contract at WBA run out at the end of this season?

According to WBA's website 'The defender penned a three-year contract, plus an extra year's option in the club's favour'. So it all depends what an extra year in the clubs favour actually means. He is a must sign in my opinion, full back is such an important position in modern football. You only have to look at the difference Calderon and Paynter made when they signed two years ago.

Faster than Painter, that's about the only difference, although it is hugely significant in this league.

At that age, given the chance, sign him.

I agree that mattock has/is doing well.i think Reyes has not made the impact that we thought he would second time around but there is still time.

With regards to the city boys I don't kow that to think.against Ipswich I thought razak was fantastic & assulin payed a nice cameo.
Since then neither of them have been involved.
