Matthew Upson joins Leicester City on one year contract

Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
Why do Leicester want a 35yr old at the back doesn't make sense

Maybe a case of signing him now with a view that they might not be able to find anyone better? Low risk on a years contract. I can't imagine he will find himself in the squad of 23 come the end of the summer.

No, he won't be in the staring XI but if you are operating on a sensible budget, an experienced centre back like him on the bench or in reserve to cover injuries is a pretty good bet.
