Is anyone else feeling a wee bit disappointed with Thornhill? Apparently last season he bossed the Forest midfield when he played and also got on the scoresheet a number of times. My forest mate thought he would kill L1 with his creativity and awareness. Hopefully he will prove himself worthy and become an asset in the middle of the park, although his task just got harder with crofty and dicker forming a solid partnership. What do people think?

A Forest supporting friend of mine said that he's a good player when fit, just a shame he's not fit that often.

I think that's been the problem since he's been here more than any lack of creativity or talent.

How long does it take to get fit? If he bossed the Forest midfield last year when he played it's all a bit suspicious to me why they've loaned him to us. Get him up to speed, get him fit, then take him back. Robbie Savage anyone?

Havn't actually seen him play yet this season which says it all to me really, ubt i dont understand why, i thought he was a great player who would be pivotal in our 'promotion' push

Dissapointing indeed. Thought he would be an important cog for us and was pissed off we only had him until January. Has looked gash in the times I've seen him. A long way off the class we were expecting. Would not give 2 shits if he went back

its the same old story. its been happening for a couple years now. we get a good player with a good reputation and we think great here we go. then what happens? yes they turn shit. is it the coaching, the training pitces , withdean, us? i really dont know but it fucks me off

Maybe its attitude? He needs to put some starring games in the reserves, i.e like Hart. Slade mentioned that the other day, its the only way he is gonna force himself in the 1st eleven, or unless there is an injury crisis in midfield and he gets a run of games then.

I've not seen enough of him to specifically comment. But generally speaking, creative midfielders can't do things single-handedly. They need team mates to push on, to make space, to make runs, etc.

Our team doesn't do this enough. We're too static at set pieces and throw ins, we're too slow to push forward, and don't make enough off the ball runs to provide options for a creative midfield player.

I'm alittle dissapointed that we aint seen him start yet, but this is down to being not 100% fit. But this is a good problem to have for Slade because if one of our midfields aka Dicker or Crofts have a bad game, then we can call upon Thornhill to come in and do a job.
