Forgot to mention that I met Alan Knott a while back in Cyprus where he lives much of the year. Probably the first professional cricketer to take personal fitness really seriously. Interesting chap to talk to about contemporary cricket. He is still a very fit looking late '60s or early 70-something although does have a painful back condition. I guess its a legacy of stooping behind the stumps for so many years. You will often see him wearing a coat inspite of the Cyprus heat as he tries to protect his back from draughts.

I used face snowy in the nets when I spent around 6 weeks attending coaching school as a kid, and Jim Parks senior provided the slower deliveries, doubt i ever read the old mans googly ever, he was a pain to bat against . Snowy was a great chap
