Tony Grieig in 1977 against India.

If that wasn't at Lords, anyone know the last Suusex player to get 100 for England at Lords?

It was indeed marvellous scenes and I had the privelege to watch it. To be honest, I did not even know Prior was playing until the match announcer announced his name. Sky is down at home owing to excessive tree growth and I've been too busy at work to look at the net much. It was great entertainment. Okay, the West Indian bowling was utter garbage much of the time and Glenn McGrath would probably have yorked him before he got going, but you can only hit the balls you are bowled and Matt did so superbly. Ironically, I only went because a mate texted me the other day to say Lord's had had some returns. I'd not intended to go before, but am very glad I did. Mind you, the wind.....and no, I had not had a dodgy curry the night before!!

I went past Lords on both days, typical London planning to have road closures and holes dug everywhere.

I might add that there was a considerable Sussex element in the crowd, which gave Matt a great welcome when he came to the crease. Not surprising if the Hove crowd was somewhat depleted given the events of the last two days there.

We need him playing for Sussex right now. We're getting whacked yet again.

This England cricket thing is utter garbage. Far too many test matches. If a county has a decent player they lose him to the England set-up for almost all the season. I'm sure Ted Dexter played most of Sussex's games as well as turning out for England. And how exactly would Liverpool feel if Stevie Gerrard only got to play 25% of their games because of his England commitments??

The situation is stupid ... moan, moan, moan, rant, rant rant ...

The number of test matches in a summer has been pretty constant for decades. What we do have is too many One Day Internationals. We've gone from being a three match series at the start of the summer a decade ago to having ten ODIs and two 20/20 internationals this summer.
