Is it likely that the Albion would use the services of The Montefiore Hospital in Hove for scans and the like? This is a question that could bare a faintest hope!

There’s usually 2 great big MRI & X-ray trucks outside the East Stand during the week anyway !

Holding out some hope that it is just a bad sprain rather than anything like ligament damage. If it's the latter, we're looking at a minimum of 2-3 months I'd guess. Messi suffered 'minor ankle ligament damage' at the Copa America final in mid-July and is targeting a return to fitness mid-late September, as a reference point.

Didn't he pick up something like 16 yellows and a red last season? That suggests he *was* playing his normal game, and something needs to be done about him before he ends someone's career

Lewis Dunk picked up 13 yellows and 1 red in 2016/17. 9 yellows and 2 reds in 2015/16. 11 yellows and 1 red in 2014/15.

Should something have been done about him as well?

For pulling players' shirts because he was out of position? He wasn't making reckless challenges and certainly wasn't trying to injure anyone

Did we have a "x million down the drain, Lewis Dunk strikes again" chant celebrating how often he injures opposing players?

Fouls are inevitable. Two-footed lunges on a player's ankles are not, and having a player in your team whose only role is to do that says a lot about the club imo.

One away at Palace springs to mind when he got sent off for a very rash lunge late on. It wasn’t malicious but it was certainly reckless and I think it was more over committed trying to win a late challenge in a close gam, but could have easily injured someone.

Totally, but even if you have a wrongun in the team that does try and hurt opposition players, its still another level entirely to have neanderthal fans celebrating it.

If someone did such a studs up tackle on Zaha and he was out injured for weeks, I dont think you'd get such classless behaviour from Albion fans celebrating it.......... and thats even with the backdrop that we all know Zaha would go down 10x per game as if he had been taken out and injured for weeks.

I think you underestimate our allocation of knuckle-draggers. There would definitely be morons online celebrating any kind of injury to Zaha, especially if caused by an unsanctioned Brighton player. Sadly.

Indeed. He has a reputation. Someone posted a video of an awful 'tackle' he made when playing for Banbury Utd a couple of seasons ago.
Also the posts from the Crawley numbskulls last night indicated that they know he's their hard man who likes to dish it out.
