If Hummels character is as you suggest, maybe we should avoid period. Not sure age is relevant. Perhaps you should let PB know Hummels has such a bad character, perhaps they aren't aware.

I remember there being a discussion on the Guardian FW Podcast when they were previewing the EUROs, talking about the omission of Hummels from the German squad (and the reasons why). I obviously had no idea at the time that we would be linked with him, but there is certainly SOMETHING in his character that could be problematic. This is from a GOAL article about him:-

Yeah I’ll let PB know about every opinion I express on NSC, that sounds like a rational and normal thing to do

I have no issue with FH’s age - I’m delighted with the appointment and really excited for the new season but it’s a fact he’s never had to manage big name players and personalities like Hummel’s, I think it’s ok to be a little concerned about how that might play out.

Your 2nd para - fair enough. I think if FH would have a problem managing Hummels, we have a bigger problem as he may struggle with other squad members.

I feel we should back him in this respect- if he feels Hummels would be a good addition, that's enough for me. Hopefully coming from German football, he has a decent flavour for his reputation and what he brings to the table.
