U23 for sure, but lets hope with a chance to train with the main squad as well and step in as 6th choice central midfielder if required.

Is it my imagination or do we hoover up Scandinavians for the development squad and then they all disappoint?

ALBION SIGN NORWEGIAN YOUNGSTER

Brighton & Hove Albion have completed the signing of midfielder Mathias Normann from Norwegian second division side FK Bodo/Glimt.

Normann, who predominantly plays as a central midfielder, joins on undisclosed terms on a three-year contract.

Manager Chris Hughton said, “We are delighted that we’ve been able to bring Mathias to the club.

“He is a talented and versatile young player, who already has good experience playing regular senior football in Norway.

“We are looking forward to welcoming him into the club, and his longer-term plan will be to break into the first-team group.”

The 21-year-old leaves Norway after spending four years with FK Bodo/Glimt, making a total of 42 appearances and scoring three goals.

Normann has also represented Norway at youth-team level, for the under-17s and under-18s.

OOOH exciting another Scandinavian for the development squad. Are there any we could bring in to the First team? Is the Delaney deal dead because that would be a Nordic signing worth getting excited about?

Now, sign some players good enough to go straight in to the first team squad and good enough to play in the Premier league

Excellent.

Hopefully will get to train a bit with the first team squad as well, and be ready as 6th choice midfielder.

Another one that we will never hear about ever again after being told about how amazing they are when they sign.

What's the point of this when we should be concentrating on singing first team players for our woefully under strength squad. Barber out.

The point is either

1) It is thought he will be good enough in 1-2 years time, at which point if he is he'd be unaffordable. Gamble.

or

2) He may already be good enough as 6th or 7th choice in midfield.

or

3) He is simply a filler player for the U23s as the ones we have need lesser and cheap players to make up the team in that position.

Clearly, we hope it is (1) or (2).

I love the logic that, because we are completing one signing, we cant POSSIBLY be MULTI TASKING and trying to sign other players :lolol:

Ever noticed some clubs complete MORE THAN ONE signing on Transfer Deadline Day? Mind blown.
