The article states that he has applied twice for permanent planning permission (he currently operates on a temporary license) to sell burgers but on both occasions he has not included key information and the applications have been returned. At the moment, it looks to me like he only has himself to blame.

Don't let the facts get in the way of NSCs righteous indignation!

Not the real one
I think it's crap that there is nothing outside the Amex other than program sellers. They should have a few stalls with merchandise, so you don't have to que for the shop. Also I don't see a problem with the burger bar outside the stadium property. That is how people have made money through the ages, if there wasn't a demand for burgers, the guy wouldn't make any money. I feel a club U turn coming on. Or council, whoever it was.

Whilst I do think the van owner is to blame in this case I also support the idea of burger vans outside the AMEX. Going further, I know a number of subscribers think I knock our country at times but I do think the UK does burger vans better than anyone else. It's an area where we truly excel and a layby with a burger van (has to come with plastic B&Q patio furniture) is British culture which I do actually enjoy. Tea from polystyrene is a British as you can get.

From what I've read, this is the council, not the club. Personally, I've had burgers from both. And both are rubbish. The one outside the station is a bog standard footy ground burger. Nothing to write home about. The stadium burger was not good.
I thought new burgers were being sampled, for the stadium.

As usual - people jumping on the populist bandwagon without any knowledge of the facts.

Surely not - that never, ever happens on NSC. It's a model of unbiased, articulate, friendly debate .... well, until the inevitable binfest starts around the 4th post of every thread, anyway.

Given that the club don't own the land (it might actually be private, otherwise it's Southern's/Network Rail's) I didn't think the issue would be with them, especially as the other van that sits just outside the station is fine (although it doesn't sell hot food). His burgers were alright though for burger van burgers, hopefully he'll get it sorted and be back soon.

FFS why don't people read the article. It says the land is a back garden which they own the lease to. It's not railway land.

Because I'm about to go out the door, and said that it was EITHER private land or railway land? Thank you for informing that it's private land, I felt that was more likely anyway.

Can't we somehow highlight these posts so I don't have to read the rest beforehand?

1. There is no right to run a retail business from your garden.
2. Their burger is rubbish.
3. If we do have a burger van can we have Naz's? The one from outside wickes now a bit further away from wickes for disputed reasons.
